Frequently asked questions

What to expect from GlassTraxx mobile auto glass, heavy equipment glass, and custom flat glass service in Kansas City.

What are your hours?

We are open Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Central. Our team takes calls during all listed hours. Appointment availability depends on glass stock, service length, and the live calendar.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

Cancel within 24 hours after placing your order to receive a refund. After 24 hours, payments are nonrefundable, and you may reschedule your service up to three times. Please contact GlassTraxx before your appointment to request a cancellation or reschedule. A missed appointment counts as one reschedule.

What happens if weather prevents mobile service?

If weather prevents mobile service, you may bring your vehicle to our shop and stay with it or drop it off, subject to availability. Please contact us first to arrange this. Otherwise, we will reschedule for the next best day. Weather-related schedule changes do not count toward your three customer-requested reschedules.

What if I select the wrong door glass?

If you tell us before the technician travels to your appointment, we will correct your door-glass selection at no charge. If an incorrect customer selection is discovered after the technician arrives, a $199 incorrect-selection service fee applies. This fee is waived when the error is caused by our system and you provided accurate information.

How does your door-glass package pricing work?

Door-glass service uses flat-rate package pricing. Please verify the selected window and vehicle details before ordering, and contact us promptly if a selection needs to be corrected.

How quickly can you get me scheduled?

Eligible online quotes let you choose an available day and a morning or afternoon window. Morning is 8 a.m.–noon and afternoon is noon–5 p.m. Central on weekdays; On weekends, morning is 9 a.m.–noon and afternoon is noon–3 p.m. Our team decides the exact arrival time as the day progresses. Choose a window and pay online, or select “Pay with cash/card at time of appointment” to book immediately and pay the quoted total at your visit. Online-payment windows are held during checkout and booked after payment is confirmed. Timing depends on glass availability and your service location. If your request needs staff review, our team will confirm the next steps.

How soon can I drive after a windshield replacement?

The minimum drive-away time is one hour after installation. We recommend waiting two hours whenever possible. Your technician will confirm when your vehicle is ready to drive and let you know if the adhesive or conditions require a longer wait.

Can I drop off my vehicle instead of scheduling mobile service?

Yes. Please contact us directly to arrange a vehicle drop-off so we can confirm availability and the details of your service.

Do you come to my location?

Yes. GlassTraxx provides mobile glass service across the Kansas City metro. Tell us your location when requesting a quote so we can confirm service availability.

Do I need to be home for a windshield replacement?

No. You do not need to be home while we replace your windshield, but we do need a key to the vehicle so the technician can complete the work.

Do you work on classic cars?

We love and appreciate classic cars, but we currently decline classic-car work. Thank you for understanding.

How do I get an auto glass quote?

Choose Enter VIN or Enter license plate in the quote form. For a plate lookup, include the registration state. Confirm your vehicle, the glass needed, service ZIP code, and contact details. If the plate lookup cannot identify your vehicle, we will ask for the VIN. Eligible requests receive an automatic quote after we check the glass and supplier pricing. Most instant quotes are available within 5 minutes of submitting your request. If you have neither identifier, you can send your year, make, and model for staff review.

Do you offer Gorilla Glass windshields for Jeeps?

Yes. We offer Mopar windshields made with Corning Gorilla Glass for selected 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK, 2019–2021 Jeep Wrangler JL, and 2020–2023 Jeep Gladiator JT models. We confirm compatibility using your VIN and windshield features before ordering. Gorilla Glass may require more time to schedule because of glass availability; our team will confirm the expected timing with your quote.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, and Apple Pay. Klarna, Affirm, and Afterpay are also available at checkout for eligible purchases, subject to provider approval. Available payment methods are shown at checkout.

Can you repair a chip, or does the windshield need replacement?

That depends on the size, location, and condition of the damage. Tell us about the chip when requesting a quote. We will assess whether repair is appropriate before confirming service.

Will a repaired rock chip disappear, and what if the repair fails?

Rock chip repair will not make the damage disappear completely; a visible mark will remain. The repair is designed to help stop the damage from spreading.

If a rock chip repair performed by GlassTraxx fails, we will give you $150 off a replacement windshield installed by GlassTraxx.

Who qualifies for the $50 windshield replacement discount?

We offer $50 off windshield replacement for military members and veterans, teachers, healthcare workers, and all emergency-service personnel after GlassTraxx staff verifies eligibility.

Healthcare: Doctors, nurses, and anyone currently working in a healthcare facility, in any clinical or nonclinical role, including reception, administration, housekeeping, food service, maintenance, and security.

Emergency services: All current emergency-service personnel, including EMS, fire, police and law enforcement, 911 call takers and dispatchers, search and rescue, emergency management, and other emergency-service staff and volunteers.

The discount applies to windshield replacement only, subject to the service minimum. Travel fees are excluded. One discount applies at a time; an equal or better existing discount is retained.

How do I verify eligibility for the $50 discount?

Get your quote first—no documents are needed just to receive a price. When you decide to purchase, open your private quote page, request the discount, and upload redacted proof privately or arrange an in-person check. Every eligible group follows the same process: staff checks your name and qualifying status, then approves the discount before you pay. Payment stays paused while your request is pending. The optional AI review only assists staff and does not approve or deny your request.

Current work or volunteer service must be shown for healthcare, teachers, and emergency services. A professional license alone does not establish current work. Healthcare-facility support employees do not need a clinical title.

Accepted proof examples:

  • Military and veterans: a VA Veteran ID Card or Veteran Health Identification Card, including a clear screenshot; a state-issued license or ID with an official Veteran designation; or a DD214 showing Character of Service as Honorable. Current military members can use a current statement-of-service letter or military pay statement.
  • Healthcare: Current healthcare-facility employee or staff ID showing your name and facility. Any clinical or nonclinical role qualifies; a clinical title or professional license is not required. Alternatively, use a current employment or work-assignment letter or a pay statement from the past 90 days showing your name and healthcare facility.
  • Emergency services: Current emergency-service agency employee, staff, or volunteer ID showing your name and agency. All emergency-service roles qualify, including 911 call takers and dispatchers, search and rescue, and emergency management. Alternatively, use a current agency employment, work-assignment, or volunteer-service letter or a pay statement from the past 90 days.
  • Teachers: current school-issued employee ID showing a teaching role, current school-year employment letter, or a pay statement from the past 90 days.

Keep your name, qualifying organization or service status, and relevant dates visible. Cover Social Security numbers, ID numbers, barcodes, birth dates, home addresses, pay amounts, and bank details. Never upload DoD, CAC, or USID cards; show those to staff in person. Do not upload patient records or medical information. Uploaded proof is private and removed after the staff decision.

Do you replace glass on heavy equipment?

Yes. We work with glass on excavators, skid steers, loaders, forklifts, tractors, and other equipment. The make, model, serial number if available, glass position, and job site location help us identify the right option. Request a heavy equipment quote.

Can you cut flat glass for equipment?

Yes. Send us the dimensions, quantity, and details about the machine or application through our custom glass cutting request page. We confirm measurements and glass specifications before proceeding. We cannot drill holes in flat glass.

Is my online quote the final price?

Eligible online quotes show a price you can review and pay. Check your selected glass, vehicle details, service location, travel charge, and applicable tax before paying. If a matching part or price cannot be confirmed automatically, our team will help with your request.

How long is my saved quote valid?

Saved quotes are valid for 7 days. Check the expiration shown on your private quote page, and use the link in your email to return when you are ready.

What warranty comes with GlassTraxx installation?

Automotive glass installations include lifetime workmanship coverage for installation-caused leaks, air noise, and fitment issues while the original customer owns or leases the vehicle. Heavy equipment glass installations include one-year workmanship coverage for installation-caused leaks, seal, or fitment issues. Glass material defects are handled through the applicable supplier or manufacturer warranty. Read the full GlassTraxx workmanship warranty.

What should I have ready when requesting service?

For a vehicle, have the VIN or license plate and registration state, plus your service ZIP code. If the plate lookup does not find your vehicle, you will need the VIN. For heavy equipment, the make, model, serial number if available, damaged panel location, and job site ZIP code are helpful.
